But they give it for what they believe is a good cause – feeding those less fortunate.

For months, customers at Gus’ Coney Island in downtown Mt. Clemens have been giving a few extra bucks to buy drinks, a breakfast or Coney dog or a dinner meal for the homeless or those who can’t afford a meal.

It’s unknown how many people have been helped since the Main Street eatery started its pay-it-forward campaign late last year, but it’s success has kept it going months later.
